Utilising parent company's consumer technology to develop user friendly mobile app for corporates and corporate travellers.
Traveldoo Technologies, the provider of travel and expense management platforms has launched a new hotel booking application, in the first of a series of native T &E apps to revolutionise the way corporates and corporate travellers manage and book their business travel.
Leveraging parent company Expedia Inc.’s extensive knowledge in the consumer market, Traveldoo has created a user-friendly hotel booking application for the business travel market. The app includes the full range of booking capabilities provided by an OBT including hotels sorted by corporate preference, highlighted corporate rates and a seamless approval process. Bookings can be integrated into the back end TMC systems for additional support such as reporting and duty of care.
Daniel Fitzgerald, CPO of Traveldoo added “Consumers successfully use hotel booking applications on their smartphones all the time and we wanted to adapt the same experience for the corporate market. Current consumer applications don’t allow integration with the TMC, so bookings cannot be supported or used for rate negotiations, and there are issues around duty of care. The new Traveldoo app resolves these issues whilst providing an efficient and user friendly tool for travellers.”

A recent study by GBTA Foundation* found that 61% of business travellers surveyed had at least one of the seven major hotel chains apps on their smartphones. Only 19% used these apps for bookings.
The reasons cited included no TMC support, Duty of care and lack of booking capability.
