Editorial December 2016
2016 is coming to an end, but it’s definitely not time to take stock just yet, as there’s still some good news to come. On November 24, we hosted a dinner for more than 70 guests, including 50 of our customers, in the prestigious setting of the Rue de Presbourg apartment. The evening was an opportunity for us to understand more about our customers’ and partners’ views on the business, our values and the Traveldoo ethos. Over the evening, we outlined our key areas of development and product strategy.
We are seeing a boom in the emergence of new technologies. The world of “Business Travel” alone is the focus of a great many innovations, as changing consumer patterns and developments in enterprise information systems challenge the way we interact. One obstacle we need to address as an industry, is how to manage the convergence of the leisure world and the corporate world, and the disruption to traditional distribution models.
Traveldoo’s business model is based on total independence with regard to content, to give businesses real tools to effectively manage their policies (travel, procurement, HR, process, etc.) while retaining control of their choices under all circumstances.
In this environment, the main challenge is to ensure we continue to enhance our solutions in line with market changes and capture new opportunities to maximise the ROI for businesses.
Let’s look at two specific examples of how customers now expect to manage travel and expenses: 1) booking a flight, hotel and chauffeur quickly and easily in a few clicks on your mobile, all in line with company policy, 2) making the reimbursement process for a restaurant bill totally paperless by locating the restaurant, producing a digital copy of the bill by taking a photo, voice recognition of the amount, the purpose and the guests, payment from a smartphone and automatic recording in the expense report.
At the next Business Travel Show, which will take place in London in February 2017, we will unveil new functionalities and present them at the next “Traveldoo User Group”, which will take place at the end of the first quarter of 2017.
I join Traveldoo’s teams in wishing you happy holidays!
