Traveldoo®’s annual Travel Buyer Survey reveals need for monumental change
London February 26, 2020. A huge 95 per cent of travel buyers don’t believe the industry is doing enough to minimise its impact on the environment, Traveldoo®’s second annual Travel Buyer Survey has revealed.
Ahead of Business Travel Show 2020, the travel and expense technology company of Expedia Group asked travel buyers across the UK to provide insight on some of the major challenges they face in 2020.
With sustainability unquestionably one of the biggest topics the business travel industry has had to address in recent times, it appears change is a coming with a respectable 70 per cent of those surveyed committed to having a sustainable travel policy in place within the next few years. Is it going to be enough?
Sam Cande, Traveldoo UK Country Manager and Chair of BTA Planet Plan said: “Awareness of sustainability issues has steadily been increasing over the last year with businesses needing to take greater responsibility for their green credentials. It’s slow moving and as the results of our survey find, there is still a massive way to go before the industry is winning this battle – and that’s from the eyes of those closest to action.”
“Perhaps most reassuring is that 70 per cent of travel managers said their businesses will have sustainable travel policies in place within the next few years with the same number also claiming their organisations already measure their carbon footprint for business travel.”
